Additional programs and services

Practical tools to strengthen preparedness

Alongside our core training, Get Ready offers a range of additional programs and services that enhance resilience and safety. These solutions address specific organizational needs, from risk assessments and compliance to emergency response and bystander readiness.

An All-Hazards Risk Assessment can be vital in identifying major risks and vulnerabilities

Risk assessment refers to the comprehensive process of identifying hazards, evaluating the risks associated with those hazards, and prioritizing them in relation to a specific activity, task, or job. This process takes into account both the probability or likelihood of harm occurring from exposure and the potential consequence or severity of that harm. A risk assessment involves a detailed examination of your workplace to identify elements, situations, or processes that may pose a threat to your facilities, operations, and most importantly, your people. Once a hazard has been identified, it should be evaluated to determine the likelihood and severity of potential harm. Based on this evaluation, appropriate measures can be established to eliminate or control the risk, ensuring a safer environment for everyone involved.

Fire Safety Plans are required by the provincial Office of the Fire Marshal to ensure the safety of occupants, property and the environment.

Our team of fire safety and prevention professionals specializes in developing site-specific fire safety plans for a wide range of organizations, from healthcare facilities to manufacturing plants. We provide comprehensive project management throughout the entire process, including the creation of plans, procedures, and technical drawings. Once the client has approved the documentation, we coordinate with the Authority Having Jurisdiction and oversee the submission and approval process until final authorization is secured. Our process includes:

  • Conducting site inspections and reviewing existing fire safety plans.
  • Liaising with outsourced architects and building contractors.
  • Reviewing and addressing changes such as new buildings, structures, or process modifications.
  • Drafting fire safety plans for all staff members.
  • Producing technical drawings.
  • Integrating fire safety plans with existing response plans, including fire evacuation procedures.
  • Confirming the presence and adequacy of specific safety equipment such as standpipes, hose connections, fire hose cabinets, and fire extinguishers.
  • Assessing fire protection systems, fire alarms, monitoring equipment, and fire panels.
  • Providing training and conducting exercises as required.
  • Managing plan submissions and liaising with the local fire service until final approval is obtained.

We oversee every aspect of the process to ensure timely completion and full project approval.

Our training program includes a structured schedule of emergency preparedness exercises designed to build confidence and competence at every organizational level: Monthly 10-Minute Drills allow staff to quickly and easily practice their roles, led by managers or supervisors for maximum engagement and consistency. Quarterly Two-Hour Table-Top exercises provide directors and senior team members with opportunities to practice managing the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), improving coordination and decision-making skills. Annually, the Site X live exercise brings together Police, Fire, EMS, and essential vendors. This comprehensive drill enables 9-1-1 Emergency Services to become familiar with your site and organizational response capabilities, ensuring a more effective and coordinated response in real emergencies.

For over a decade, we have proudly provided Emergency Response Team (ERT) services to Sanofi Pasteur Limited’s Toronto site, delivering comprehensive coverage seven days a week with a dedicated team of firefighters and paramedics. Our team responds promptly to incidents such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous spills, chemical and pathogen decontamination and clean-up, utility failures, and building evacuations. We report directly to Sanofi’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) leadership and coordinate as needed with Toronto Fire Services, Police, and EMS. By conducting all required Fire and Ministry of Labour (MOL) code equipment checks—including monthly and annual inspections of fire extinguishers, fire hose cabinets, and medical equipment—we help reduce site risks and claims. We also author and manage the approval process for building Fire Safety Plans. Our responsibilities include conducting site fire drills, WSIB-certified first aid training, spill response training, and practical exercises. We actively participate in both internal and external site audits. Our team members are highly experienced and certified to NFPA 1001 Levels 1 and 2. They are proficient in the use of air monitoring equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and chemical protective clothing (CPC) suits, and in the decontamination of people, equipment, and facilities as required.

We give confidence to the public (Bystanders) to start patient care BEFORE 9-1-1 Emergency Services arrive; while raising money for Fundraisers and healthcare.

Everyday in Canada hundreds of people get sick or injured. Hospitals are overwhelmed and 9-1-1 response times are increasing.

As paramedics, firefighters, and police officers, we often witness crowds of bystanders standing idly during emergencies. This untapped resource has the potential to make a significant difference if individuals are empowered to provide first aid before 9-1-1 Emergency Services arrive.

The Get Ready Team has developed the Ready FIRST AIDE web app, enabling the public to access life-saving information directly on their mobile devices.

Businesses and organizations can purchase Ready FIRST AIDE through the Become a willing bystander Fundraising Programs for their staff and members. This initiative not only enhances community safety but also donates 50% of the purchase price to selected fundraisers and healthcare programs.

A flexible approach

Our approach to preparedness and resilience is intentionally flexible. We recognize that no two organizations are the same, and neither are their needs. That’s why our programs can be tailored in three ways:

Build your own program

By giving clients the freedom to build their own program— selecting only the tools and resources that will make the greatest impact—we empower teams to prepare confidently, respond effectively, and recover quickly. Whether you’re looking for focused training or a full-scale integrated program, Get Ready ensures that every component works together to strengthen your overall resilience.

Individual Modules:

Choose specific tools or training sessions to target an immediate need, whether it’s emergency response, leadership under pressure, or team communication. Integrated Solutions: Combine multiple program elements into a cohesive framework, creating a comprehensive preparedness strategy that covers all aspects of risk and resilience.

Scalable Design:

Start small and expand over time. Our programs grow with your organization, adapting as your priorities shift and challenges evolve.
