Our Story

Our team has worked in the medical and emergency management fields for most of our careers. Over the years, we have seen first-hand the challenges faced by organizations during a crisisWe founded our company to improve the way people and organizations respond to emergencies.

First, we separate policies from proceduresThen we bring our clients exceptional content in an easy-to-use cloud-based platform. We provide Job Action Sheets for all levels of staff from the frontline workers to the executive suite, so everyone knows exactly what to do.  We literally have thousands of proven response procedures and tools for all types of incidents from pandemic, fires, floods, hazardous spills, utility failures, severe weather, bombs, persons with a weapon, to name a few.

Get Ready is a team of critical care medicine, public health, policing, emergency management, fire fighting, military, crisis communications, and information technology experts.


Scott Ashley  CCFP

President and CEO

Scott is the President and co-founder of Get Ready. Scott’s strong belief is to separate policies from procedures and truly “operationalize” these often complex, policy-based programs into response-ready capabilities.

He has over twelve years experience in EMS from his early years as a paramedic where he worked in Alberta, Los Angeles, Toronto and for eight years as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic on the Bandage One helicopter based in Toronto.

Since that time Scott has founded companies that focused on first aid training, emergency Management, BCP and Pandemic planning.

Scott developed pandemic plans for many Fortune 500 clients, professional services firms and medium size companies.

Get Ready provides custom cloud-based tools so organizations can easily access their information on desktop or mobile devices; this instant access and dashboard situational awareness has been an industry game changer.

Dr. Mike Christian  MD, MSc (Public Health), FRCPC

Medical Advisor

Mike is a member of the Get Ready Board of Directors and works with the leadership of Get Ready, providing advice and guidance on the development of our products.

Mike has been a senior healthcare sector leader with nearly 30 years of experience and a strong track record of high-performance. His specialisms include critical care, infectious diseases, military, aviation and pre-hospital medicine. Mike has enjoyed a diverse range of roles, including Chief Safety Officer for a large multi-site Hospital System, Medical Director of Critical Care Response Teams in Canada, and Director (Founding Board) of Ontario Agency for Health Protection & Promotion Health System. In 2016, he moved to the UK for a sabbatical with London’s Air Ambulance. Having decided to remain in the UK, Mike was recruited to join London’s Air Ambulance’s senior team to lead on the delivery of key objectives within their research and quality strategies.

Mike completed an MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is a retired member from the Regular Forces of the RCAF having served tours in Haiti and Afghanistan and continues to serve as a reserve specialist medical officer/flight surgeon. Mike has responded to a number of disasters including SARS, the 2010 Haiti earthquake and was one of the first on scene of the London Bridge attack and has advised governments about emergency preparedness issues. Mike’s academic pursuits focus on disaster management and emergency preparedness, and in 2018 was identified as one of the top 3 authors in the field of Disaster Medicine between 2008-2017.

Christel Hollinger Ivanyshyn  ABCP, CMM II (EMP), Dipl MM

Vice-President, Client Services

Christel designs and develops the content for Get Ready’s incident management programs. She is also a part of the implementation team, ensuring our clients needs are met.

Christel has over 20 years of emergency response and emergency management experience, working for the chemical industry, municipal government, fire service, and healthcare. She co-chaired the Province of Ontario Interoperability Task Group (POINT), and participated on provincial Critical Infrastructure Assurance Program working groups and national Technology Interest Groups to promote interoperability across Canada. She has created multi-tiered emergency management plans, and provided leadership for tornados, mass casualty incidents, ice storms, and H1N1.

Glenn Gosling-Cannell  RN, CNCC, ENCC

Specialty Programs Director

Glenn manages the on-site Get Ready Emergency Response Teams (ERT), and works directly with our clients to achieve their emergency response goals.

Glenn completed his training in Nursing at John Moores University. Since then, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in Critical Care, Emergency Care, Critical Flight Care, Emergency Management and Crisis Interventional Care. Glenn has worked in the Emergency Management industry for over 15 years, working closely with agencies operating in the field during an incident, and organizations during the planning and recovery of an incident. Glenn is also a paralegal.

Craig Sumpter   

Client Solutions Director

As Get Ready’s Client Solutions Director, Craig works closely with clients to develop EM and BCP programs. He works with the Get Ready team assisting sectors such as big financial, pharma, health care, and transportation.

Because Craig has worked at the “tip-of-the-spear”, he understands the value of how the Get Ready programs, such as the Immediate Business Impact Assessment Tool, assists organizations in successfully navigating critical incidents.

Craig has 20 years of experience in Emergency Management. This experience was gained with tenures in the military, front line policing, Tactical and Rescue (SWAT), Bomb Squad, and experience with Operational Planning for major events and bomb threat/active shooter contingency planning for the public and private sectors. He has had the pleasure of serving the community as a Tactical Team Leader and retired from policing as the Officer in Charge of an Explosive Disposal Unit. Craig currently serves as a Firefighter with the City of Brampton.

JAmes Justice IT Professional at Get Ready Inc

James Justice   

Director of Technology

James manages and supports all technology related aspects of the Get Ready eco-system from software and systems design to implementation and support services.

As a self-proclaimed ‘professional geek’ with over 15 years experience James has proven expertise in IT service delivery, system architecture design and development, platform support and project management. Previously supporting the delivery of a hosted Business Intelligence solution for the pharmaceutical industry, security and reliability concerns are always on his mind. Starting out as a Software Developer and progressing through many roles in IT including Quality Assurance, Business Analyst, Systems Implementation Manager and Director of IT James approaches business opportunities and challenges with an perspective that spans the technology landscape.

Justin Howe   

Chief Technology Officer
A cross-disciplinary technology and tech management expert, Justin has domestic and international experience spanning network infrastructure, software development, management, interactive media creation, and academia.

As Get Ready’s Chief Technology Officer, he is our expert in technical team management and strategic development, deployment and support of technology.  Justin’s arc of expertise and training as a Systems Analyst, director-level manager and front line tech specialist makes him uniquely suited for Get Ready’s multi-faceted challenges of getting the right tools in place for the right people at the right times.

Adam Isaacs

Emergency Management Specialist

Adam is Get Ready’s Emergency Management Specialist and provides content and expertise to all of Get Ready’s verticals.

With more than 20 years of clinical and professional healthcare experience within Risk and Emergency Management, Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Services, Adam is a recognized leader nationally and internationally with a proven track record of strategic program development, and inter-professional team collaboration across multiple platforms and enterprise wide.

Mike Soegtrop

Business Continuity Director
Mike is a global leader in business continuity and crisis management. With over 20 years of international experience, specialized in preparing organizations for worst-case scenarios, from natural disasters to cyber threats, while ensuring compliance to internal policies and regulatory obligations. His twenty years of experience includes Price Waterhouse Coopers, two Canadian national banks (CIBC and BMO) and two international Insurance companies (Manulife and Aon). He has traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, New York, Chicago, Winnipeg and Bermuda on business continuity projects in the financial, insurance, retail and telecom industries. He is a certified Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (2007).
He also served as a board member and Canadian Chapter President. Mike has developed a broad set of risk and disaster management tools speaking at risk management and disaster conferences

John D. Neily


John provides valuable strategic, leadership and business advice to the Get Ready team.

John is a bilingual, practicing professional services and management consultant, strategic advisor as well as certified executive coach. He has been engaged in tactical, operational and strategic level leadership in the public safety and security, as well as national security sectors for over 42 years. John is a former Assistant Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where he served in a series of progressive positions with local, provincial, national and international influence. Throughout his career in the Force he practiced risk management and provided guidance and leadership to operational planning and organizational resilience development. That skill set was refined even further as an applied research Director of the Conference Board of Canada in the national security and public safety sectors and more recently as a strategic advisor for Defence Research and Development Canada’s Center for Security Science. John is sought after in program evaluation and design, exercise development and after-action reviews.

Fraser Williams

General Manager

Fraser manages Get Ready’s finances, social marketing platforms, and client service needs. He is the site administrator and document manager for one of our clients. Fraser is often the first point of contact for our clients regarding site specifics or troubleshooting situations.

Mike Minnick

As Get Ready’s Logistics Coordinator, Mike works with Samsung Canada, distribution companies, and third party suppliers in support of our Smart Cabinets Program.

Mike comes to Get Ready after having worked in the Grocery Industry for over 25 years. His experience consists of store operations, category management, space management, and supply chain and logistics.


Adam Revesz


Adam is the head of Video Production and a Partner at Get Ready.

He has been in the entertainment industry for over twenty years and has been producing videos, TV and film for about 15. He’s produced content (in various roles) for CBC, E-One, Food Network, Astral Media, TIFF, MTV, BNN, and others as well as many large corporations around North America though his production company, One Inch Punch Productions Inc. He also writes movies and has had a couple of short films produced as well as co-produced and directed a feature film and some shorts of his own. A couple awards were won in there as well.

Tim Ivanyshyn

Business Administrator

Tim is the Business Administrator, expediting client and business contracts and provides project management. He sits on the Get Ready Board of Directors.

Tim has over 35 years experience in municipal administration as an Executive Manager. His areas of expertise include human resources, contract development, project management, strategic planning, procurement and finance.


Ted Bisaillion


Ted is the voice and Partner of Get Ready – you will hear him on most of our videos.

Ted is a successful stand-up comedian that has also wowed corporate audiences from North America to Europe and even the North Pole with his funny take of things. His creativity combined with his business skills fit in nicely with Get Ready.


Nick Buczynsky

Emergency Management Specialist

Nick brings over 35 years of practical and operational experience in emergency management, business continuity, traffic operations, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and policy development. He has extensive experience working for local, regional and provincial governments including developing and managing emergency management and business continuity programs.  Creation of emergency plans and procedures compliment his hands-on experience with numerous significant incidents and emergencies.  He has prepared and facilitated training and exercises to hundreds of municipal and provincial personnel, first responders and supporting agencies.

Over the years, Nick has been called upon numerous times as a subject matter expert, delivering dozens of presentations to community groups, businesses, and industry.

Get Ready’s software platform and innovation has been recognized by the Canadian Federal Government as a National Research Council of Canada – Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) funding partner.

Our in-house development team, with expertise across mobile, virtualization and server technologies, are a well-rounded team of tech professionals. Our team focuses on secure, reliable and scalable delivery of features and updates to the Get Ready ecosystem. Our approach provides effective user experiences through continuous QA testing and iteration on our designs.
Get Ready’s platform is housed at ThinkOn Inc. providing domestically based hosting for our clients in Canada, USA, UK and EU.
